Brazil's Top Android Music & Podcast Apps Q1 2021 Performance

The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for Music and Podcast apps on the Android platform in Brazil. Sensor Tower's latest data provides insights into the performance of the top applications in this category.

TuneIn Radio: Music & Sports saw its revenue peak in mid-January at $603K before fluctuating and ending the quarter at $301K. Downloads showed a steady increase from 20K in the last week of December to over 33K by the end of March. Weekly active users grew from 103K to an impressive 153K over the same period.

For Sua Música, revenues displayed minor fluctuations, commencing the quarter with $284K and closing at $223K. Downloads started strong at 82K, dipped in February, and then spiked to 88K in the third week of February. However, they saw a decline towards the end of March to 65K. Active users started at 1.25M but experienced a gradual decline to 1.08M.

The Podcast Player App - Castbox experienced a revenue rise in January, hitting $144K before gradually decreasing to $85K by the quarter's end. Downloads peaked at 2.1K in mid-January and then saw a decrease to just under 1K. Active users had initial growth from 174K to 193K but ended the quarter with a slight drop to 175K.

MP3 Downloader - Music Player showed a revenue high of $210K in early March but ended the quarter at $66K. Download numbers were highest at the start of the quarter with 109K, then declined to 39K. Weekly active users saw a decrease from 517K in late December to 316K by the end of March.

Lastly, eSound: MP3 Music Player App had its revenue fluctuate, starting at $91K and ending at $101K. Downloads began at 45K, dipped in February, and slightly recovered to 26K. Active users showed an overall positive trend, increasing from 264K to 383K.
